today i have created a landscape in 3D studio max, to do this i had to open a new Photoshop document with a height and width of 214 inches and have 72 pixels per inch. Upon completing this i clicked filter (on the top toolbar) and selected render, then i choose the difference cloud
option, i then repeated this again and choose the smudge option and began to smudge the black and white areas. Whilst doing this i added more black and white lines to create a valley effect. once done i saved the landscape and opened up 3d studio max where i
created a plane. once done i went to modify the modifier list and selected displace, then i went to the bitmap option and click none so i can select the Photoshop file. after this i clicked strength and began to increase the numbers so a landscape effect appeared. once done i went on to google and got a rock texture and put it over my landscape
texture, after this i opened a drop down menu near the layers option and cycled through to get the desired effect, once done i saved the
document under a new name and went back into 3d studio max and pressed M to open up the material editor. i then click the grey square next to diffuse and choose bitmap, i then select the newly saved Photoshop file and then moved the texture to the landscape model where i then clicked show map in view port option to get the texture fully onto the landscape.
