UWV unwrapping

Today i learnt how to unwrap a 3D model for textures, to do this i first created a basic house before going to unwrap UV which is in the modifier list menu. After selecting this i select the face option i began to select face of the basic house, including sides of the roof and the base of the house, i did this one face at a time so i can get a decent result, after select the first face i clicked quick planar map in the parameters menu. I then picked edit and moved the shape marked out to the side and i continued to add more faces so i can create a net of the house whilst also resizing each shape so that they can fit. Once finished the net was moved into a small square and was reshaped to fit inside the square before i took a print screen of it and pasted it into Photoshop, once done i cropped the sides so that the UWV map was the only thing on screen, i duplicated the layer and turned it into a overlay and then created another layer for the textures, I've completed the textures and i think i can do UV mapping more easily now.

a 3D house made with box modelling

Today we have been creating a simple house by using box modelling, to start with we had to draw a box, after this was done we then extruded the top of the house by selecting the top polygons and then extruding it (after converting the box to editable mesh). Once this was done i used scale to add slopes to create a roof, once done i made the doors by extruding several polygons inwards and for the windows i extruded several polygons outwards and then used scale to add the final effect. After this was complete i rendered the shape to get the final view.
